Using Dial4.food alongside Uber Eats

Keep your Uber Eats listing exactly as it is. This page explains what Uber Eats says it provides, what a phone channel of your own adds, and where the line between them sits.

What Uber Eats provides

Three different products, in Uber's own words.

Summarised from Uber Eats's own UK merchant pages, checked 27 September 2026.

  • Marketplace

Your listing in the Uber Eats app, where customers browse places near them. Uber Eats says orders are managed in its Orders app on an in-shop tablet, with Uber Eats Manager for menus and reporting.

  • Self-delivery

The same listing, but your own staff deliver. Uber Eats publishes a different fee for this than for orders its couriers deliver.

  • Uber Direct

A separate product. Uber Eats describes it as last-mile delivery for orders you take on your own website, app or phone, using Uber couriers. Dial4.food does not connect to it.

The distinction matters when people say “we already do our own delivery”. On Uber Eats that can mean self-delivery from the marketplace, or Uber Direct carrying orders you took yourself. Neither is the same as taking the order, which is the part Dial4.food does.

What a phone channel adds

A route for the customer who rings you.

An Uber Eats listing reaches people browsing the app. It does nothing for the person who has your number in their phone and would rather talk, especially for collection.

Dial4.food answers that call, takes the order from your menu, reads it back with the total and sends a ticket to your kitchen. Whether it adds sales depends on how many of those calls you get and how well you promote the number, which is why we suggest measuring it rather than assuming.

Boundaries

What belongs to which channel.

  • Orders

Uber Eats orders arrive on Uber's tablet. Dial4.food orders arrive on your Posso POS, order terminal or kitchen printer. Neither can see the other, so treat them as two separate queues.

  • Delivery

Uber's couriers deliver marketplace orders, or your staff do under self-delivery. For a Dial4.food order, delivery is yours if you offer it. Uber Direct cannot be booked from Dial4.food.

  • Payment

Uber Eats handles payment for orders placed in its app under your agreement with them. A Dial4.food order is paid however your own setup works, usually on collection or delivery, or online where your setup supports it.

Uber Eats is an independent business with no involvement in Dial4.food and no endorsement of it. Nothing here is an integration or a partnership.

A hypothetical Friday

How the two run side by side.

Your Uber Eats tablet is busy with delivery orders and Uber's couriers are collecting them. Meanwhile the shop phone rings four times in ten minutes with collection customers, and nobody can pick up.

Those four callers reach your Dial4.food number instead. The assistant takes their orders from your menu, reads each one back and prints the tickets. The kitchen works one queue for Uber and one for collection, and nothing about your Uber listing has changed.

This is an illustration of how a shift might run, not a case study or a promise of extra orders.

Uber Eats questions

Will adding Dial4.food change my Uber Eats listing?

No. Your listing, menu, photos and fees on Uber Eats are governed by your agreement with Uber and are untouched by anything here. Dial4.food adds a separate page and phone number that you own and promote.

Does Dial4.food use Uber Direct to deliver?

No. Uber Direct is Uber's own product for delivering orders you take yourself, and Dial4.food has no connection to it. If you want couriers for your direct orders, that is a conversation with Uber, separate from Dial4.food.

Can Dial4.food orders appear on my Uber Eats tablet?

No. There is no integration between the two. Uber Eats orders stay on Uber's device and Dial4.food orders arrive on your Posso POS, terminal or kitchen printer.

What does Uber Eats charge, and does Dial4.food change that?

Uber Eats publishes its UK rates on its own pricing page: a 30% delivery fee, 33% for Uber One members, 13% for self-delivery and 13% for pick-up, plus a £650 activation fee excluding VAT that it says includes a tablet, printer, menu creation and photography. Those figures are Uber's and applied under your agreement with them. Dial4.food does not change them, and a Dial4.food order is not an Uber Eats order. Checked 27 September 2026; confirm current terms with Uber.

My POS is integrated with Uber Eats. Does that help here?

Not directly. Uber Eats offers POS integration through named integration partners and notes on its own page that not all POS systems may integrate. Dial4.food sends orders through Posso POS, Posso order terminals or supported kitchen printers, which is a separate route into your kitchen.
